The older an xj gets the less the doors want to cooperate, it's common. My buddies back doors are nearly impossible to open from the outside and the tailgate sometimes won't open but then will randomly open while you are driving down the street and my other buddy's tailgate won't open unless you pull the handle and smack to the right side of it. Xj doors are wacky.

 

Mine is still dripping yellow from the whole can of PB Blaster I shot in there, lol.
Looks like an incontinent dog is following me around.
