I can tell you I love the keyless entry system. No more carrying my keys around. I just chunk them in the center console and I am off. I absolutely love it and if I could have it on my Jeep I would.
The code stickers I have seen were only on older Fords. They probably got wise to the thieves finding the code and stopped putting those stickers in the vehicles.

My buddy had one in a 89? or so town car. He tore the sticker off and that keypad came in handy several times when he locked his keys in the car or was too lazy to go get them.

I dont know about the cars but on all the suvs and trucks the permanent code, not one installed by the dealer or owner, is in the hole above where the radio would be.

That works fine if you are willing to carry your wallet. I don't always want to carry my keys or wallet when I go hunting or fishing. I have lost a set of keys in a duck pond. That sucks. If I do this once, I won't ever have to do it again.

So I searched online for the part number posted up in the Explorer forum. Price used ran from about $50 to $100. I would assume that does not include the wiring harness necessary to complete the install. I will make the rounds to JYs sometime in the next couple of weeks.

When walking the dogs are or when I am shopping with the wife I won't carry my wallet either unless I have too. I like to where nike, adidas, and Under Armor shorts and the extra weight sucks.

I did not know how usefull the keypad entry was till I had it. Now I love it.
