Question Does this connector actually convert to OB2?

Howdy all just bought the Snap-on MT 2500 off ebay in order to talk to my 93 XJ's computer. I know it can also read the Renix era computers as well. I also know that Chrysler used the DRB-II reader to flash and program it.

However, I came across this connector on ebay, and it claims to convert the XJ data connector (see picture) to OBD2. In my mind it shouldnt be able to take the raw data and convert it without the specific software the MT 2500 and Chrysler DRB-II machines do.

Anyone ever used it, or have any thoughts? I might just buy it to see

No connector can 'convert' pre-OBDII to OBDII.

It may be able to connect an OBDII scanner to a pre-OBDII computer, but it can only read what's in that computer. There is no OBDII logic in the older computers.

Says in the title and description that it's just an adapter. There nothing "converting" anything even mentioned.

You can plug in your Snap-on scanner, but I don't see how it's going to display what's going on. A friend of mine has a Snap-On computer that swears can read OBD-I, but I don't see how.

My snap on ethos scanner can read OBD I. But I need to use one of the 30 or so attachment cables and keys in order to do it. Since very few of my clients have pre OBD cars I haven't used it much in the last few years. Cash for clunkers pretty much took care of that. As for the cable I don't see how that could be effective unless it's designed to be used with a specific scanner that was already programmed to that adaptor.

Correction now that I think about it I don't if I've ever used the Ethos on OBD I. I usually dust off the old brick when one of those cars come in

Basslicks, you can in fact read the Renix and era between Renix and OB2 with the Snap-on MT-2500. Here's a link to a video by NickInTimeFilms:
