Howdy from South Texas
Hi All,
just wanted to say Hi, I'm from South Texas and just recently purchased a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4x4. I was wanting to stay away from the 1999-2001 model year due to the cracked head issue but I found this one with 87k Miles and brand new tires and a very very clean interior. As to try and protect myself from the Cracked Head issue and the 3 months of almost 100 degree weather we have in South Texas I have flushed the entire cooling system, new 195 degree Thermostat as well as flush out Heater Core. Then Refilled with HOAT coolant.
Next up was my Blend Door Actuator. The Motor was frozen solid. Had to take it out which was easy, tap the motor a bit, force it by hand and wuallla back in business.
Now I'm just awaiting the weekend so I can try to fix my windows and door controls. I can open all window from driver side, I can LOCK from drivers side but Can't UNLOCK. All controls work on Passenger side. At the same time I'm going to install a Viper Alarm system and some new component speakers and Head Unit.
After all that is done this weekend, next Tuesday my Grand Cherokee Steering Components from MOOG arrive as well as some new Monroe Shocks and steering dampener.
I think after all that is done I should be good to go for a while. Hoping to gain more knowledge here. So Far I'm loving this jeep. Once my new road tires wear out. I want to go with a moderate 3-3.5"Lift and A/T tires as this is a daily driver and light trail and ranch use.
