Default DODGE AXLES

Ok. everyone knows about the ford nine inch and the 8.8 and it is a really popular swap..... What about dodge axles. Would they be a better fit because they are mopar along with jeep. I am a big fan of the dodge axles cause I have a Dodge 3500 dually and when you put it in 4 high you can't turn. That thing is locked down. I am just looking for a slightly cheaper alternative than lockers. Just trying to find my options.

turning has nothing to do with what axle you have
its the weight of the truck that is making it hard to turn in 4h
and it might have a locker in the back

It is a dually and all six wheels lock down and spin. there is no slip. thats what i mean by it doesn't want to turn. I just really like the dodge axles and the way they lock down. It is an 05 with stock drivetrain so it doesnt have any lockers.

if their is no slip in any of the wheels then it has lockers or some sort of traction control

but most likely its just the weight and it being a dually that gives the impression that it has something different than the jeep

it probably has Dana 80 in back and some type Dana front
and you could use them in a jeep but they would be wider
and would not work any different than your old axles did unless you had lockers
the + is they would be way stronger

the dodge works the same as a jeep

This brings my curiosity, has anyone done a Dakota 9.25 swap in an XJ?

What would that swap accomplish. I just don't know. I know little about Dodge axles. Are there advantages like higher spine count or factory LSD or some disc brakes. Enlighten us.

I would think the Dakota 9.25 would get you at least disk brakes and the same quality as the 8.8
but you may have gear matching problems
