Hey all - some PO took the doors off my 95 and just cut out the door sensors so the dome light would turn off. I'd like to get them all working again. I pulled sensors at the junkyard this morning from a 98, and the ones in the rear are just plain as day right there in the middle of the jamb, but I can't find anywhere they would mount on my 95. Do pre-97 XJ even have rear door sensors? Or am I just so stupid that I can't find where they would mount??
Thanks all!

Thanks for the replies, gents - I swore I took a pic on my phone of that same rear door jamb and there wasn't any hole for a sensor - I will definitely do it when I get home and post!
What's weird is there is a wiring plug on each side that has the same yellow/black wires as the front jamb sensors, almost like the 97-01 pigtail would fit right in...but nowhere to mount it?? So weird...
Pic to come this evening!

Maybe it was part of a spec package. Mine is a Limited so has everything.
You'll find a lot of manufacturers just used the same loom across the range of options so you get the wiring to the switch but no hole or switch.

Well that makes a TON of sense, boxburn - thank you! That would certainly explain why I'd have the harness but not the switch. I could definitely live with the two rear doors not triggering the dome light....

my 99 doesn't have them either....and it was built as a service spec vehicle on the build sheet.

Ok sorry for the wait - yeah, there's just zero mounting holes on mine. I don't know what trim package other than it's a 95. Looks like the harness is definitely there, and the dome lights don't come on unless the circuit is closed, so they could be added but it's sure not worth the effort for me. Meanwhile I took some door sensors off a 98 at the junkyard and putting them in the front was cake. Didn't realize how much I missed having the dome lights come on when you open the door! Little stuff makes a difference.

My 95 does NOT have the rear door jamb switches. It is an SE model, so it doesn't even have the factory roof racks - fortunately my Dad had a nice Thule rack set for rain gutters that he couldn't use on newer vehicles so he gave them to me so I have a roof rack.
