Do I really need shocks?
Looking at a 3" lift kit that consists of 3" spacers and AALs, do I really need longer shocks or will I be fine for normal driving and the occasional off road?

You need new shocks or junkyard it and find some from a f-150. Search around and you will find cheap shock alternatives.

Ok thanks for all your replies.
What about Rocky Road's 3 inch lift? I guess they come with some BPE's or something.
Will I be able to run that lift with the stock shocks?

If you lift it Change shocks. Even on my little 2in lift the stock shocks were to short. I used ZJ shocks in the front and MJ in the back. you can run like monroes or some other cheap shock if you want. If you want the part numbers I'll dig them up for you.

BPE's will allow you to run stock shocks, but not if you do any flexing offroad. Besides the cost is basically the same as the correct shock. Shocks from a Rubicon will work, but regular TJ shocks wont. Stay on the stree untill you can drop $100 for some cheepy extended shocks, rusty's or Rough Country and the like.
