OK thanks a lot.

I order TIMKEN SET 10 bearings and will ask the garage to mount them.
They are cheap. This is good news.

Should I Buy a full Kit with seal, etc ? I have no visible leak.
What do you advise ?

Again, thank you

The axle seals will have to be replaced as well. I don't think the 44 is a c-clip axle, so you shouldn't have to pop the cover off. If you do, it's just a silicone RTV seal to put it back on.

If you plan on going in/out of the axle a lot, get a "lube locker". It's a reusable gasket.

Most diy post are about c clips versions
for a 87 D44 it is not necessary to open the diff ?

I think only the ZJ/WJ D44a had c clips. Every other D44 I've ever worked on has bearing retainers.

Look at what's in the kits. Seals, retainers etc. Perhaps watch a youtube video on the procedure.

You need bearings, bearing retainers, and seals.

It's a pressed on retainer. You need it.
