disable ignition key buzz
My Daughter drives my '01 XJ to school and leaves very early for soccer workouts. She's left the lights on a few times and I'm trying to get the headlight reminder to start working again. Once in a while I can hear the buzzer crackle like it's trying to work but I cannot locate it so I can replace it. It's not on/around the passenger side fuse box, when it does start screaming It sounds like it's coming from the base of the steering column. I've replaced the light "plunger" (not the technical term) because I thought it may be a part of that setup, but it was not. Any ideas where it is on my '01 XJ Classic? Thanks for the assistance.
I heard a rumor that pulling the sensor could also trick the car into thinking there is no driver, thus stopping the airbag from deploying in an accident. Is there any validity to this?
Also, wouldn't it be easier to merely pull the speaker than mess with fuses?
Thought?
