Well, after another fun day of work. SHE LIVES.
After buying a new coil (I'm stupid, tossed my Factory coil), still no spark.
So we decided to look at the dizzy. After taking the cap off, we notice, well it's dirty as ****. After taking the top part (under the rotor) off, we notice a magnet. Well that's ****ing odd. A little bit of research later, I found out it was part of the whole hall effect sensor that is the Cam Shaft Position Sensor. So ended up with a new Dizzy. AND BAM, she works.
I was too busy actually doing tire work, so the lead mechanic was working on my jeep, he ended up denting my oil filter somehow, but he got it in.

Your camshaft position sensor exploded. Rare, but I've seen it.
Glad you got it resolved!

I didn't get a picture before I returned it as a core, but the magnet was also grooving into the pulse ring?, pretty odd.
But all is well, wish I came out richer instead of poorer, but screw it.

So I am also having the same problem. So far I have replaced my cps, dizzy cap, rotor, plugs, ignition coil and still no spark. Distributor ignition pickup looks fine. Im running out of both ideas and money. Any ideas out there?

We need to know what year, model and engine size. Unfortunately they are not all alike.Originally Posted by old big red

What did you need to do in order to fix the melted wire? Did you need to replace the whole wiring harness?

Only seen it happen once but you never know cause that is a pretty crappy place to put wires.

How did you resolve this issue?
