Default Determing the strength of your coolant?

Ok I have antifreeze coolant tester (tuber with the 5 ***** with different density) my question is, I have 3 of the 5 ***** floating does that mean I need to add more coolant or water? Also I would like to know # of floating ***** = Degrees which it is boiling/freezing

I had the packagin for it about a year ago but you know, I forgot, I did a google search and did not find my answer.

Thanks in Advance!

Add more antifreeze/coolant. Less floating *****, less protection, IIRC.

50/50 is the goal Mix some in a cup test, then make it match

Water transfers heat better than ?Etheline glycol? is why 50/50

You really want all 5 ***** to float. That ensure that you are in the 50-50 range, which is the best mix for the majority of situations. Good down to -34 below farenheit, and also good heat protection on the other end.

What is the history of routine cooling system maintenance? A simple flush and fill and a new 195 degree (quality) thermostat and 16# radiator cap goes a long ways in paying you back for your investment. Replace hoses if they're old as well; often overlooked.

Dollar for dollar, there is no better money spent than that spent on cooling system maintenance.
