Oct 28th - Ordered a 99-01 WJ brake master/booster, got an automated email said they were pulling it out and would email when shipped. Odd that the picture on the website showed it already pulled?
Nov 18th - Email them asking if/when it would ship. Got this reply same day: "our handling time is 7-10 business days after laying off eighty percent of our company for mishandling parts we are currently running a little behind in fulfilling our orders. We are doing our best to catch up. We are not far behind on orders and you will get tracking information in your email soon."
Dec 14th - Emailed them again. Zero response
Dec 16th - Called, no answer
The item is still listed on their website as available. It was a fantastic price, so I'm reluctant to call the credit card company just yet, but I'm starting to think I've been scammed.

I've been in communication with them off and on the past few days about an XJ Dana 44 axle they have on eBay. They claimed they were in partial shutdown this week and next for the holidays (didn't mention any layoffs.)
In the past when I have worked with them they have told me the photos on their website and eBay are all "stock" (i.e., not the part you're probably going to receive.)
I can say that they have consistantly had awesome customer service and I've sent many people in their direction. I hope it's just a temporary issue. Let us know what happens.
Doesn't matter what the story is... You've waited too long for your PAID parts... Let's hope they don't go on vacation just yet without sending out the 2 month wait on the paid parts...
Interesting that this story popped up. I stopped using DeadJeep not too long ago due to the same issue. The reviews for these guys within the last 6 months are brutal. I would order a bunch of parts and have to wait several weeks for them to ship. My theory is that the folks that run this salvage yard are just plain old lazy and/or super obese/out of shape. They sit on your money for weeks until they get tired of your calls/emails and finally package up the parts. For used parts, I use DaveysJeeps, OnlyJeepParts, Timbuckthree 4WD, Car-Part or Ebay.

That's my hope, and I'm being patient. Too damn cold outside lately to install it anyway. About half their reviews on Yelp complain about orders being canceled after long waits, or bad or wrong parts being sent.

Sorry, but you sound like a judgemental *****. Nice of you to assume that because their service is lacking that it automatically makes them fat lazy slobs.
Maybe they're genuinely experiencing a rough time and are overwhelmed. This post pandemic economy is complete ****, and many people are struggling.
Maybe you have never been overwhelmed with obstacles in your life...but maybe a little understanding that **** happens would go a long way.
They're obviously having a rough patch in their life. If you're upset with your order, contact your bank or card service and cancel your order. Report your experience here, like others have done. Jusr do it without the personal bashing.
EDIT: See below statement, about English literacy, then read the last sentence above this one. Just is spelled jusr, because of fat fingers on mobile. People make mistakes. Especially when overwhelmed. Even then poor spelling and grammar isn't an indicator of someone's personal appearance.

Somewhat lately similar threads on this have popped up on other forums.
Frankly I just think it is just a more mom and pop or side gig thing.
Nothing to be overly worried about but then again I have never dealt with them either.
There is one thing I don't like though which is one of the reasons that I would only deal with them if absolutely necessary.
When I buy a used part I want to see the exact part I am getting,
Not just a picture for "illustration purposes".
And when their listings say "5 available" I have to figure the picture I see might not be the one I will get so....
Timely thread for me. I placed an order on 11/22 and got a quoted lead time of 7-10 business days to ship. Now at ~17 business days with no communication. I'm fine with waiting. I have no problems understanding things can take longer than expected and small businesses suffer from setbacks that larger places don't, but I would like to know what's going on. Haven't called them yet, will probably give them through the holidays to get things figured out before I start squawking.
The automated response does not inspire confidence:
"We are operating with a 7-10 buisness day handeling time due to an abondence of orders if this time frame does ot work for you please let us know and we will refund your purchase."
That's some rough spelling and grammar for an automated response from a business. I'd judge a Facebook Marketplace ad if it had mistakes like that...
Obviously some people have had issues and been upset with them. But like I said, I'm willing to be patient with delays so long as they are up front and let me know. Yeah, the post-order automated email was a bit amusing though.
"Thank you for your purchase, your part is being humanely extracted and we will notify you as soon as it ships. We are operating with a 7-10 buisness day handeling time due to an abondence of orders if this time frame does ot work for you please let us know and we will refund your purchase."
They posted this on their facebook a few days ago. Bad practice though to keep taking in new orders, when you're not responding to customers and falling behind on current orders.
"HEY! We are here we swear. The phones lines are jammed, we are trying to keep up but its taking us days to get back to people. SORRY!!!"
