Well there's no doubt you're describing the right fuse. On the later fuse board you only get fuse numbers so I was mostly checking you were describing the right fuse.

The only 2 things I can think of at this point are to trace the ORG-T wire around and see if it's got anything feeding off from it. The other would be to find all body grounding points, particularly around the dash, take them apart and give it all a good clean up. My thoughts on this are if there's a bad ground tied to the instrument lighting circuit and the power is finding another earth path through a higher load item. Even if a ground cleaning doesn't solve this issue, it is a maintenance job on any vehicle of its age and may prevent another bad earth issue in the future.

So looking at the plugs for the radio. There is an orange and blue wire that are cut and I'm not sure when they are supposed to go?

I put in a fuse for the dome light and now the map lights work but still no gauge cluster lights.

Also 2 different plug and bulb styles on the front park signals. Clearly someone replaced one.

As far as I'm aware, that orange wire should be controlling the back lighting for the radio. Can you see the other end of that wire in the loom?

I found these wires not connected to anything.

One is orange and black the other is blue.

I did look at the that, but I didn't see any mention of a blue wire coming from the stereo.

I just don't want to hook up the wrong wires and blow out something in the harness.

I honestly don't even care about the radio, I'm just trying to figure out why I still have no dash lights

Take the radio out then. Leave no bare wires.

Thanks for all the help guys. I finally found the problem.

Apparently when I pulled all the bulbs and switches from the dash I missed one and of course that's the one! I'm stupid.

While I was digging through all the stereo wires I found this!

I missed the bulb for the heater control lights and it was broken off with wires sticking out. Good grief.

I now have dash lights.

I'm glad that you found it. It's a good example of why it can be worth being double checking what you thought you'd checked.

Awaiting your next thread with the next issue that I hope you don't run into, but am sure you will.

Yeah, I think the problem was when I looked at it since the whole bulb was broken off I assumed I pulled it. Then the little filament cought my eye in just the right light.

I know I'll have more questions soon. I've found so much info on here already.

Next up is fuel injector plugs. I've got a short in a couple when I wiggle them.

Thanks again!

Good job. What "short" in the injector plugs? You mean an "open"?

Ask a bloke where his Jaguar is and this is his reply:

"It's in the shop being readied for the next failure".

I guess I don't know the exact terminology. When I got this Cherokee it wasn't drivable. Water pump went out. Once I got all that done and moved my way through your tips and got it running it was missing and running very poorly. If I wiggle the wires on the injectors they cut out. II So tested them with a noid light and it would go out if I wiggle the plugs at all.

So bought some new connectors to change them out. I just haven't gotten to it yet.

That's an open circuit, when there is a loss of continuity.

A short is when a powered wire or component goes to ground and melts stuff......

It's likely you could disconnect the plugs from the injectors, clean them with contact cleaner, tweak the tabs a bit and plug them back together......
