Okay not a real big deal but annoying anyway. On the way home tonight I heard a clunking sort of noise from behind my dash somewhere. Definetly not in the engine compartment. I have a 2001 XJ. Has anyone else had this? If so (or not) any suggestions? I've had the middle dash part containing the radio out before and could not see anything that might do it.

 

I think I have sane issue. Try pulling up on your tc handle just a little bit and see if it goes away. Mine did. I thought it was in the dash too but it was traveling.

Yes , transfer case handle. Dont pull enough to engauge, just a hair.

Haha same issue. My friend and I were on our way to school and we got stuck in traffic for 15min. The TC handle was making the noise bet we didn't know it. So annoying.

Figured it out a while ago, now whenever I hear it I don't even think about it.
