Thanks for that. It quelled some concerns I have had. The information I had found was here: http://www.ifsja.org/tech/axle/axleid.html

Since all I saw on the rear axle was a "B" stamped into the housing I got a little worried that they were mismatching gear sets. I do appreiate you clearing it up for me.

BTW, do you know where I can find a truss setup for the D44 I have up front. I need to tie coil pearches and UCA/ LCA's into it. I could fab something up but I have limited resourses, limited tools and almost no place to work on it. The axles are currently stored at a buddies house about a half hour away. I get off work at 4:30 and have a housewife and a 5 month old to entertain. It's hard getting up there to work on projects.

I also have a CJ-7 with the AMC 20, you have got to go with one piece axles to make this work for you, with 33" tires I was sitting at a light, had the front tires turned and from a stand still I took off and broke the inside axle pass side, this is a common story, you won't have to dig hard to find it. 25 years ago most of us where looking for D44 D60 and if we could afford it a Ford 9" (the ring and pinon is actually bigger then a D60) The first modification a CJ owner would do is change to one piece or get different axles, if not it was the first thing to self destruct.
