Rightway Spring Co. in Tacoma WA manufactures springs & bends U-bolts while you wait. That will be my next stop. I'm guessing they have assorted lengths and bend them to order per the customers tube diameter. I need a 7" long U-bolt; the OEM bolts are about 6.5" and they are about 1/4" short of having enough threads to accommodate the 4* wedges.

On a different note: I installed the 4* wedges & removed the 1" TC drop. I think my pinion angles are almost the same, but still have some hi-freq vibrations going on. Going out to make a pinion-angle-checker in a bit here - basically weld up something using an old socket to set against the U-joint cap to locate an angle guage. Gotta get rid of those vibes. The wife kinda likes it...but it bugs the hell out of me.

They're in the process of being changed to new ones. But they are pissing me off, because I can't seem to compress the caps into the forward yoke far enough to get both retaining clips in. Which is strange...because I took two retaining clips out. I disasembled to check for stray needles, and reassembled again with the same result. Ergggg!!!

Are the ears of the yoke bent or tweeked a little? It won't take much to prevent the clips from fitting in there.

Good question; not to where it's visually apparent. Tomorrow I'll clamp the yoke in a vise and smack it with a BFH...see if I can't spread it's ears.
