Hi all. Long story short, I don't have a great deal of time to research so sorry if covered multiple times before. What year XJ was the Dana 35 used up to? An out of area scrap yard have an XJ and I'm now in need of a spare rear axle.

Well, I just rang them again and that definitely a 1990's Cherokee is now a 2004. I can do some more research later now.

The Dana 35 was available in every model year Cherokee, but I would take this opportunity to upgrade to a Chrysler 8.25 out of a 97-01 model.

Availability may restrict that option however, if I were able to source a donor vehicle with the C8.25, would I then have everything needed for the swap?

My XJ is stock and I have no plans on doing any lifting mods etc. Thanks

For an 8.25 swap you need new u-bolts and the driveshaft.

Yes but you should get new u bolts, reusing old ones isn't a good idea.

He's talking about the spring U-bolts, not the universal straps or u-bolts.
