Default Dana 35 rear diff bolts

Hi all, don't post much here but learn lots from others.

Question, how prone are the bolts on the Dana 35 to snapping? Common problem or very rare?

Want to change differential fluids in my 98. The rear differential cover is fairly rusty on the ring gear side as are the upper 3-4 bolts. The fluid itself is not awful (actually pretty good, being honey brown) and seems to have been pumped out and changed in the not too distant past.

The diff is giving me no trouble, this is just maintenance but I want to get the cover off so I can sand/grind/paint it if or replace and inspect but I'm concerned this could quickly turn into a PITA and should leave well enough alone.

Go for it! The cover bolts will rarely snap off unless cross threaded when previously installed.

Yeah guess I will. Hardware on these Jeeps makes me a little gun shy.
