Exclamation daily driver broke down!

my 88 starts fine cold, but after it reaches opperating temp its hard to start. often i give it a shot of starting fluid. sometimes the idle is wicked high when i start it warm. from what ive read on other threads is just replace every sensor that the computer uses.figure its best to
swat flys with sledge hammers.

sounds as low fuel pressure to me, and line check valve not keeping line pressurized.

Where do i find the inline check valve? It happens so randomly that this sounds like the problem. If it was a vaccuum leak it would be a consistant problem.

The valve is built in in the pump and it is not serviceable. What you can do is put an extra valve on the line just near the tank, on the hose from the sending unit to the fuel filter. These valves can be bought everywhere and are very cheap. What they do is avoid the fuel to go back to the tank and keep the line pressurized when you don't use the jeep.

Anyway i suggest you replace your Idle stepper motor (IAC) as well, with this two mods you will fix 66% of the things that usually go bad in a Renix cherokee.

the IAC made a huge differance! Installed and reset ecm but leaving cables off for like 30 minutes. The old beast ran like a scalded dog! Fuel milage went up from 10 to about 14 mpg. But after about two days it has started to act up again. Tried finding that check valve but having a hard time. gpoing to order one from summit. Gonna pull the plugs out, maybe fouled from bad IAC?
