can any one tell by looking at it it was supposedly in a 89 Cherokee
and are thees disconnects any good

 

The JKS discos are very good quality. I wish had spent the extra money and purchased those instead of the crappers I'm using. Hmmm, another upgrade for the growing list.

I looked them up online and the average price for a new set was around $140.

 

That is a Dana/Spicer carrier. But is it a 35? Hard to tell by a picture.


See if you can find the Dana casting number on it. Then myself or some other knowledgable folks can verify for you.

How long was that carrier laying in water before they stuffed the locker in it??? Ring gear is rusty.. carrier is rusty... bearings are rusted to toast.. but the locker is spotless??

Measure the size of the ring gear. The Dana 35 is 7.62 inches.. a 44 is 8.25 inches.

Don't know... It looks like it is not operating properly. The springs should be pressing the clutches out. But it may be they didn't rotate the clutches enough to make them engage.

Also it would depend on which axle its for and different lunch box models have different part numbers for low ratio carriers and high ratio ones.
