Default CV Shaft Help

Anyway my grease seal in my CV is shot and it makes this awful squeaking so for now it's out. Does anyone know of any kits to rebuild the CV Joint?? Or am I s.o.l and need the whole assembly??

CV joint is kinda like a U-joint on the front axle shaft

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constant-velocity_joint

I dont know if they had those on a XJ, but they did on Grand cherokee,...

whats this grease seal you speak of,... the boot that goes over the joint?

Yeah it's got it I know cause I pulled it yesterday lol

There's a seal that keeps it greased, but that seal is mia and there is no zerk fitting for greasing. Pretty much what I need are the seals for the joint so I can keep the grease in and stop the squeaking and dirt out

I would say either hit up autoparts store(s), stealership... or look for a JY in your area that you can get a DS from... I am planning on going to pick up some spare DS's for my XJ so that I can swap in some new U-Joints since mine are pass shot...
