I got a junkyard lift for my xj, (although it is a pro-comp lift, I believe; the shocks are anyway) and the jeep I pulled it off of had this neat cross member in the back that he mounted his rear shocks onto. It connected to the frame where the rear sway bar used to be attached. It appears to be homemade, and had multiple spots to attach the shock to, i.e. adjustable shock mounting point...has anyone ever heard of this?

I went ahead and got it (it was only $20 ) Only problem is it requires the shock mounts to be on the same side of the axle and mine are opposite sides (I presume to prevent axle wrap).

I believe Teraflex makes that kit, or at least makes one. Maybe not the one you have though.

If you do install it you should put new shock tabs on for both shocks. Make them flush with the axle tube to gain some ground clearance Clarence.

And your right about the axle wrap issue, not sure how much of an issue it is though.
