Well my Currie Steering came in today and it is very Beefy, I am very imporessed. First I would like to say thank you to CSE Offroad for having excellent customer service with very prompt email replies and shipping time. If anybody is considering doing this upgrade I would highly suggest buying it from them. They also had the lowest price, that I could find.

Now on to the good stuff.

Alright guys, I got everything installed and man this setup is great. Install was very smooth, completly bolt on. I aligned it very quick myself and it works excellent, im going to try it out at Hollister this coming weekend so you will have further updates.

Did it improve the handling and bump steer?

 

Steering is much more responsive, a big improvement.

how high of a lift calls for those? or is it more something anyone with a jeep should do?

 

on the instructions it says works for 2-6" of lift, im sitting at 4.25".

I did this because i feel very unsafe rock crawling with stock steering, it would take quite a bang to break this setup.

Also my TRE's were going out so i needed to change them out anyways, so i figured why not make an upgrade.

Lastly if i ever encounter steering issues due to more lift i can convert this setup to an OTN setup to correct my steering issues.

Bottom line is that its not needed, but trust me this weekend when i go wheeling i will feel a lot more secure.

i'm sorry, what is OTN? it's not listed on the acronyms list...

 

OTN = Over the knuckle

basically is where you flip your tierod/draglink over the knuckle to get your steering out of the way of rocks and help steering angles for higher lifts.

Thanks for the review Kyle. I was out trying to align my jeep today and i could NOT turn my tie rod, even with a 2 ft pipe wrench and my hi-jack handle on it for leverage. It's siezed as one piece. I might as well invest into this setup.

 

if your even thinking about upgrading your steering and dont want to make any mods (just bolt up) then i would highly suggest going the currie setup. It is an excellent setup and so far on the street i love it. We will see how it performs off road this weekend.
