Default oil amount??

Ive always done 5 quarts for an oil change with my xj (I6) with no issues. I picked up a haynes manuel today, and it says to do 6 quarts.... What do you guys do? I know this seems dumb, but it was just kinda suprising to read that in the manuel.

I have always used 6. The only way 5 would work is if you did a quick drain, and didnt drain all the oil out.

5 qt if you drained it quickly, 6 for a full drain

6qt with a filter. 5qt without the filter. But why change the oil without a filter change too? That is like wiping your butt and then taking a crap.
