Are all 97-01 XJ crossmembers created equal? In replacing my engine bearings I noticed that the crossmember took a hit HARD. It bent the damn thing really bad and pulled the engine straight back almost ripping out the rubber on the engine mounts. It's a 4x4 5 speed and I haven't seen a 5 speed xj in ANY yards here locally. The one on the 2wd auto looks to be the same one but not 100% sure. Searched and couldn't find any solid facts.

The answer to this riddle is no... Not all x-memebers are created equal and fair. But the one from an auto did work for now until I can source a proper one. Damn engine and trans was about 2" back and 1.5" twisted. I had to use a damn comealong to get it pulled where it should be with all the new mounts.
