Crossmember bolt problem. Need Help

Exclamation Crossmember bolt problem. Need Help

The crossmember bolts keep poppin out after about 2-3 weeks. Is there a certain way to keep them up and not move? I'm tired of installing new bolts and have them pop out a couple weeks later. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

sure you have the right thread bolts/studs there?

Yep, exact match up to the stock bolt. I can't figure out why this keeps happening.

did you use a metric bolt grade 10.9

quite an odd issue. you must have some nasty vibes going on there.

tack weld the bolt heads to the crossmember.

higher grade of loc-tite.

weld studs in there and double nut it?

Yep, added some loc tite and a locking washer, still fails.

Well I don't have access to a welder. So is there an alternative to this?

Are the threads in the "frame" rail ok? If they're worn even a little it can cause the issue u have. Try chasing the threads with a tap and see if that helps. If not, you might be able to go a with a little bigger tap and bolts. Mine had the problem but I could tell it was the threads on the captured nuts because the bolt wobbled pretty much the whole way in. I chased the threads with the correct size tap (can't remember what size it was), loctited the bolts with red loctite and its fine now.

people on naxja reccomend you retap those holes and run 7/16" bolts.

Id run by a local muffler shop and get them to tack weld the bolt heads on there. Theyll probably do it for free. Ive never heard of this problem tho. I didnt even use LOC TITE. I had enough rust to hold mine in

Yea I had same thing happen to me besides we was on the trail. Took a welder and welded the cross member to the frame rail. Goin to suck when I need to remove it but atleast it isnt goin any where now
