I have a 2000 Cherokee Sport with an inline 6, it won't start. I have replaced the starter, the coil rail, all six spark plugs and the ASD relay, there is fuel pumping to the fuel rail so I am quite certain it is an electrical problem. I believe that there is no spark. Can anyone give me advice? I'd rather not have to replace the computer or start shooting wires; I've also checked ALL of the fuses about a dozen times.

 

you test the crank angle sensor yet? one of the most common causes of a no start

 

I have a renix but I know I was having starting problems as well and after I cleaned out the starter siliniod (bad speller) on the drivers firewall it helped a lot.

I guess since you can't drive it to the parts store for a code reading you might rent or borrow a reader. I'm pretty limited here...learning. Idk. It's easy to test a Renix Jeep's CPS, yours, not so easy. There IS a resistance test that might tell you something, (I think). Maybe that it's bad, but not that it's good. I guess you still have a cam sensor there where the dizy would be, it has a resistance check as well.

Anyway, finding the codes and checking for a nice crisp blue spark would be a start.

 

You believe theres no spark? Need to figure that out before further diagnostics can begin. Fuel, fire, air and timing, always start with fuel and fire. Figure out if it has spark and we can go from there. I just played this game last night with my boys rig.

Yes.
Likely the CPS? Sure. But as luck goes, without testing you'll end up replacing every part in there before getting to the bad one last.

I am having a similar problem, i replaced my cps and distributor, but im not getting any spark, turns over fine

 

Coil possibly?
