Why would you want a temp fix to something like this? Totally rediculous to temperaly fix this problem. Fix it once and be done. Weld the thing or buy an aftearket header. They sell a really great one from Www.ineedparts.com for like 150 bucks shipped to your door and it's based off the banks header design. It adds power and isn't going to break and if you have it off might as well not go through the pita of putting all back together with stock parts. Check that header out

BTW you have an I6 not a V6 unless it's a really special jeep
I had mine welded, added the flange..Cracked again a year later. Going with the new one. Whats the best out there?

It happens "sometimes" my 1999 has 24x.xxx miles on the stock headers and no cracks yet. It has saw a lot of off road before I bought it also you just never know.

Don't know your budget or future plans but for about $100 stock type and up to &500/600 for a SS Header, can get you going again.

Welding the stock header cracks can often be done by removing only the intake, leave the header bolted on, mig weld the cracks. Disconnect your battery every time before welding on your truck.

It is thin steel.

I replaced mine on my '92 with a factory MOPAR one that had the improved accordion folds in it.

Once and done.

I just stumbled into this. I guess CF has a welding thread in Fabrication. No harm in bringing it up there I suppose...> https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f58/we...8/#post2938284
