Default Correct CPS Model?

Can you good folks link me to the correct Crank Position Sensor for a 2000 4L I6 XJ? Im seeing a couple different options. Also seeing them online for 20$ and then at the auto parts shops they are 80$... whats the diff?

There is no difference, they're all crap. The only good CPS is a Mopar CPS. Expensive by comparison to aftermarket sensors but generally won't let you down.

Here's an example of what they cost. You can also go to Rockauto.com and search by that OEM part number.

Completely agree with Ken.

The crankshaft position sensor is the most important/critical engine management sensor on the 4.0 engine. And possibly the one that is the most subject to failure. And it does fail, it can leave you stranded. Nuff said?

Mopar crank sensor is always your best crank sensor. Although I will say that it does look like it is getting a little tougher to find them.

Eshlin CPS from Napa, #css890, (for 87-90) That one has proven to provide good results, no doubt. Boger is that's a different CPS. If someone was cornered without a good option, pricing Napa might be a thought, IDK.

To me it seems like Omix-ADA would be the best vendor for an OEM spec part. But theirs is 200$.

Two hundred, for a crank sensor?!? I paid less than 1/2 that straight from the dealer. Summit is crazy.

Are those "Mopar Online" sites reliable? They always seem shlocky.

EDit: Because I bought my OEM one on amazon, (hoping its legit, it was priced as an oem) but the Mopar online sites are always cheaper.

So we assume they mean "01"? OK...seems odd to make it not clear, but I'll but that!
