Default Correct Coolant level in the reservoir

My 90 Cherokee has the coolant reservoir up near the firewall on the passenger side. Once I get my cylinder head back on and refill the system,I want to ensure I have the correct amount of coolant.

What is the proper level when the engine is stone cold, what about normal operating temp?

I see the parting line in the reservoir bottle, but dont see a "min" or "max" or "full hot" or "full cold"

Thanks for the assistance

It seems like halfway is about where it should be, but I'm not sure. That's where mine is at, and I haven't had any problems. I'd be interested to see if you get an answer from someone who actually knows for sure.

Look inside. You want it to be above the tube in the bottom. I run mine a little over half way, maybe 1/4 to 3/8 inch over

This is what I do. It happens to be a tad below half.

While you're at it, go to Napa and get a new rezzy cap from a Volvo. Part # 703-1396. It will grip the threads on the rezzy neck better, hold higher pressure, and not rub the underside of your hood when the rezzy expands.
