Convert NP207 to electronic speedometer

Convert NP207 to electronic speedometer
Hi all,
does anyone here know how to convert an older NP 207 to electronic speedometer. I found a nice one and put it in my '96 Cherokee SE, 5-speed with ax5(i think). Now I need to hook up the speedometer somehow. The speedometer in the donor car was cable driven. The access port in the 207 is significantly smaller than in the 231 disallowing the hardware that came with my '96 vehicle.
Any help is appreciated.
