confused help, what type of tranny fluid to use???

Year: 2001

Model: Cherokee

Engine: 4.0

confused help, what type of tranny fluid to use???

I have 2001 Cherokee limited automatic 4.0L daily driver

been to Different parts places and websites etc and got the run around and
a little more confused

, Not sure on what the tranny it has, no owners manual
I have been told to use the following in no spec order:

ATF+4
Dextron III
Dextron/ Merc
Dextron II
Mopar Dextron IIE

I know this has probably been beaten to death, but I need help I want to put in the right stuff!!!

Might want to get that checked out pronto.

For the automatic transmission Dex/Merc is fine.

Dexron III for your tranny. (their is no "t") I made the same mistake for about 40 years until someone here straightened me out! Dexron, not Dextron.
