completed aw4 swap check engine light on
It took a while, but the ax15 is gone and aw4 is in. It cranked on the first try and runs great! But, the check engine light is on and was wondering if
there were any explanations. Does the computer need to be reset or can I just clear it out with a pocket scanner?
And thanks to all for the great info here!! It made the swap so much easier!

1. Post year/engine
2. Strategy for a check engine light is always the same. Pull the codes. Post the EXACT code here for comment (not just a description). Anything less than pulling the codes is pure guesswork.

Off the top of my head its a speed sensor issue. Google would be your friend. What year is the trans & tcm out of?
And lucky dog for doing the swap. I had the chance, but put in another ax-15, regret it so much.

The tcm is from a 96 as well as pcm, engine wiring harness. The trans
is from a 94. It would have been easier to sell this 2wd 5spd but since
my sister gave me the vehicle for free, i decided to convert it.
Thanks again

The only thing I could fathem is a communication issue between the pre obdII tcm and the OBDII pcm, even if it was all just plug & play.
