Default Front Diff Leaking Out The Back Of The Housing.....

Trying to figure out what may be causing this leak coming from the front diff but its coming from where the front driveshaft connects to the axle. Is it just a seal gone bad or something else?? This picture is not recent because now the diff fluid has soaked all the way down to the front of the diff cover but you can see where it started in this picture. Tell me if you've had this leak before.....

Usually the pinion bearing fails & then takes the seal with it.

Not bad, when you put back, just need to torque it down, which I dont know the specs. Sorry

you have a low pinion. it has a crush sleeve, so i would suggest taking it to a shop that has the tools and the know how to retorque.

i've changed many, but all were high pinion and don't have the crush sleeve.
much easier as you can just torque the nut.

In that case ill drop it off with my mechanic, I really dont feel like messing with it. Dont have the time. I'll go ahead and buy the bearing and the seal to knock them out at the same time. Thanks guys!
