Default Compatible PCM Disussion

Gents,

I have been scouring the internet for hours to figure out the compatible PCMs for my '99. Is their some sort of documentation on this?

I looked in the archived threads and couldn't find ****.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't have that exact information, but I would sure think that the salvage yard would.

You'll have to specify what engine and transmission you have, whether it was originally an export, if your Jeep is Federal Emissions.

I can go to the parts catalog and look it up if I had this info.

What number is on your current PCM?

Thanks for the reply, sorry for the vagueness - new to this jeep thang. I have a 4.0L, automatic, 1999 Limited - i'm checking the VIN now for some more information.

Update: I don't see anything regarding Federal Emissions or it being an export.

This is what I see on the PCM P/N - P56041 :

That's the one I am currently looking at. I don't like to put my trust into an ebay seller's hands, but I feel I am left without choice. It looks like they do offer a lifetime warranty, however.

Exactly... it's some sort of super rare PCM. It must be Optimus Prime or some ****.

I ordered it. Tired of looking to be honest.

What's the part number of that POS on evilbay. I couldn't find it.

Get only a part number 492AC PCM. No other year carries this part number.

PCM's for 99 XJ

ERO = 4.0, DGO = Auto Trans

#56041 492AC 1 ER0 DG0 Federal
#56041 493AC 1 ER0 DG0 California
#56041 494AC 1 ER0 DG0 European
#56041 495AC 1 ER0 DG0 Leaded Fuel

It was a 492AC. They say they carry all off them (every year, every trim) for non-exports. I had to send them the part number and my VIN.
