Compass/Temperature Sensor
My 94 XJ has the overhead console and would like to know how I can check my outside sensor. The ouside temp seems to be 10 to 12 degrees off. Thank you.

The temp sensor is somewhere in the grill or under the front bumper. It's a variable resistor and can be replaced. My 97 ZJ was about 12* off, but my 2000 WJ is + or - 1*.

Out of curiosity. Hotter or colder? If hotter maybe where it is positioned. In my '00 mine is attached to the lower radiator support. When I first installed the overhead console, did not come with one, was wondering if it would be off being where it is located. But is within reason IMO.

I don't remember if it was hotter or colder, BUT the one on my WJ is clipped to the back of the grill support in front of the A/C condenser about 6" from the condenser itself. It will pick up some heat from the radiator if parked for a while, but drops back down as soon as you start driving.
