I dont do it often. Just recently with the rain we've been getting.

Lets not start the great oil debate here.

Oil is oil, but it's a fact that full synth does better... Usually, I run a viscosity one step lighter than suggested for a given temp range. Doesn't hurt the engine and you'll get more efficiency (less resistance within engine).

Thanks I know what that is. Why are you running 5w20 in a 4.0? They are specced for w30 and w40 grades, wearing the least on stuff like 0W40 and 5W40. Do you only drive 1 mile at a time or something?

Motor oil has come a long way. Lighter viscosity oil will do better for your engine. You have much to learn, young padawan

And to be perfectly honest, it'd probably be best for me to run 0W-20 full syn in the winter.

It's not pointless, really, I was trying to help. Educate yourself and you'll get good gas mileage while commuting. If that's the way you want it to be, I'll leave.

Last I checked... Oil isn't pointless. Dude is just trying to help.

The point of my thread was to find out how I can make my Jeep a reliable daily driver. Not have 5 comments about oil when that had nothing to do with my question. I used good oil in a viscosity that is good for my temperatures and engine. Period. Nothing else needs to be said about oil.

Sorry dude.

'98 for reliability eh? What's the maintenance history on the critical sensors like CKP, CMP, and other leave-you-stranded **** like fuel pump?

If you haven't already, make sure to clean all of your connectors and grounds, hit with the electric grease, and seal the edge with dielectric to keep water and other contaminants out.

Not sure of this history. Got it used off CL. Ill look into sensors and testing them. I already packed all my connections i could get to with dielectric grease.

Thanks.
