do you forsee yourself getting wet over the hood or you just coing to crawl curbs. if its not the latter, i am going with an ARB Safari Snorkel.

i like the look and the functionality. plus you cant get much colder air unless you go to canada...but who wants to go there?

It's not really a "cold air intake" unless you route the intake out of the engine compartment. Most of the cone filter intakes are pretty good, and there's not that HUGE difference between the brands. You won't notice HUGE power gains unless you open up the exhaust as well. What comes in must go out
You can grab some tubes and cone filters at autozone or advance and put together your own kit for cheap.

Put a K&N CAI on the wifes YJ and it made a good improvement on the throttle response. I think they are worth the investment and are easy to install. Less than an hour with ours.

I also put a K&N kit on my 01 and it improved it in horsepower and gave me +3 or so MPG,s. Also that sound coming from under your hood sucking in all of that air when you hit the gas is to die for.

if im gonna go submarine i have a homemade snokel kit that goes through the hood from my old xj, i just swap the hoods out since I didnt want to cut the body on my new one since its actually nice lookin when it isnt brown from mud haha. This intake is for general wheelin n driving since this is my DD as well as my offroader.
