yes, you have to take out the springs to get the coil spacers to slide up the bumpstop, then the spring goes back in and rests against the spacer. so the spacer is on top of the spring.
you will also need to unbolt the brake calipers, shocks, trackbar and drag link so the axle can droop enough to get the coil in. you may need to unbolt the lower control arms if you don't have enough room yet. but it makes the job a lot tougher.
if you have a set of coil spring compressors, it will make the job easier. but you must respect those things when under pressure.
