i went to get my cel checked and i got back that
skipping on cylinders 2&3
code 0740=torque converter clutch on rpm drop at lock-up condition
explanation= cruise state tcc unlocked for 10 sec., ecm commands converter lock-up and did not record engine speed drop
causes= low fluid, poor fluid, defective torque converter clutch, or internal trans failure
code 1494= evap leak detectionpump pressure swtich condition
explanation= ecm detected the leak pump swtich did not change after the solenoid was energized
causes= leak detection pump defective, open or short circuit condition, or solenoid defective
i know i need new spark plugs but will that fix my skipping?
ima go tomarrow and check the trans fluid and see if thats the cause of problem #2
and my main reason for posting is that i have no clue what problem #3 is.
any help is greatly appreciated

You definitely have multiple issues here. Three most likely.
By "skipping", I assume you mean misfire? So do you have a P0302 and a P0303 for those misfires?
ALWAYS, always start with spark plugs here. The best plug for the ignition system of the 00-01 is NGK. Do NOT use Bosch. There have been more than a few threads of mysterious misfires with Bosch plugs (not all to be fair), but because of that, I won't recommend them.
Be sure gap is at .035
Your transmission fluid should be at the correct level on the dipstick with a HOT engine. It should be red in color (not brown!) and should not smell burnt. Fresh fluid is very important to your transmission performance.
For the 1494, this is usually a hardware problem with the leak detection pump or solenoid. You should really buy a maintenance manual so that you can look up and reference issues like this. Factory service manual is the best, then Chiltons, Haynes brings up the rear as their manuals are the most generic and contain the most mistakes.

thanks for the spark plug recommendation. and i havnt gotten around to check my trans fluid. and i have a repair manuel but i couldnt find anything in it about a leak at any solenoid. i have pics of where i think the leaks are coming from. the air hoses on the top of the valve cover. i think is where they're coming from the rubber bushing under it seams to be sealed but the hoses move freely 360* when unplugged from the airbox. and wiggle slightly up and down. is that normal? or should they be set firm?

Use NGK plugs gapped to .035 and a good quality oil filter.
See where you are at after that. But you undoubtedly will still be chasing that evap. issue.

it said to check my egr solenoid.....i looked through the book and back at my engine. and i dont have one. no hoses no sensor. so thats not the problem. i have no clue what that could be....could those air hoses be a problem? the two that go to the valve cover?

Concentrate on the leak detection pump and solenoid under the hood.

Yes, you will need a new gasket, just get a filter kit for the transmission, it comes with a clean new filter and gasket with instructions.

I used the gasket that came with my transmission filter kit and it leaked. I got a felpro gasket and haven't had any issues since. This is just what I did that worked for me. Good Luck
