Default clutch or tranny

Had a clutch put in about a year ago and pedal never has felt right.2nd and reverse is always the hardest.reverse always grinds.I think the clutch slave cylinder needs a good bleeding but was told they come as a sealed unit and are already bled. Slave was replaced at time of clutch.is this true or is my tranny going out?

what year? internal or external slave? an external/master kit is preassembled and bled, but not an internal one. you could also have worn syncros...

Reverse on mine grinds sometimes unless i put it in first, then reverse. Try putting a quart of synchromesh in your tranny and see what happens. I hate penzoil just as much as the next guy, but this stuff is good

Gotta say I'd bleed it just on GP...I guess air might tend to work out on it's own, but still.

Also just a heads up, Idk the details which is which, but brass syncros can pit with the wrong juice. I don't kow which has brass, or whats the "right" juice, just that that can be an issue.

I had transmission/clutch problem. (solved)
I paid for diagnosing:
Chrysler dealer transmission mechanic $30
GM dealer foreman mechanic $15
Owner of local repair shop $10
All 3 said the same: slave or clutch

If I am not smart enough to diagnose a problem, I have to pay.
About slave cyl.:
it is replaceable, just buy it. Mine was about $40 from local Advance.
