Clunking/click sound when turning

Clunking/click sound when turning
Just bought a 96 xj and I didn't notice the Clunking/click sound it's making when a turn. It a 4x4. I don't know much about this kinda thing and don't have the tools to work on things myself currently. Just looking for possibilities of what it could be so I can fix it as cheap as possible.
It makes this sound as I was driving and pulling the wheel left to right.
Any help appreciated.

Probably a bad u-joint or cv-joint.

Sounds like axle u-joints could be the issue. Take a look, do you see orange rust on/around the axle u-joints? While not 100% the only identifier, its usually a good sign they are shot. Pretty easy fix and def cheap! <$50 for both sides (give or take)..
