Default click click noise?

There,s a clicking noise on the passanger side tire I think. As the xj slows down so does the noise like a baseball card in spokes. But I dont see anything obstructing the tire. Any thoughts? Any one?

axle u joint or the wheel bearing could be going bad. Sounds like the u-joint though. Make sure to get the axle u-joint as they're different than the drive shaft u-joints.

While you're at it, check the front drive shaft joints as well. You can pull the shaft and still drive without it in, you just won't have 4wd. Do this first and drive it, listening for the click. If it's not there, that tells you it's the drive - shaft joints. If it is still there, then it's probably the axle joint. Take off the wheel, brake assembly, dust shield, and hub on that side. Check the hub first, spinning it and listen for the click-click. If it's doing it, get a new hub assembly/wheel bearing. If not, check the axle joint by pulling the axle shaft out, checking for REALLY loose play in the u-joint. Replace the joint, put some hub grease on the shaft, put it back in and put all the rest back on. Test drive it and make sure everything's good.
