Default Clunk when suddenly lifting off the gas pedal

Hello all, I’ve searched the forum but can’t find my exact symptoms and I’m curious as to what the problem could be. I have a 1995 XJ Sport
I will be driving from 30-50mph and if I let my foot off the pedal suddenly I get a clunk and feels like from the back end. If I go any faster than that it doesn’t do it anymore, I’ve been having to let off the pedal slowly to keep it from doing it. Universal Joints? Drive Shaft? Slip Yoke??

You should clean and lube the slip yoke regardless. You can get a good look at the other components when you yank the driveshaft out.

Check your motor mounts too.

Seems like a lot of discussion on this from an older post. Might help you a bit. Or not.

usually happens as lower speeds, but worth checking U-joints in your drive-train too.

Took it to a friend today to let him drive it. He said it was slack in the rear end, unfortunately I have the worst one (Dana 35). As far as fixing it goes I don’t know how much it would be.

That's not really helpful, it still could be a number of things. IIWY I'd start with the slip yoke, look at the universals, then pull off the back cover and check the backlash and bearings. Not difficult whatsoever.
