Hello , i bought this baby girl the first of this year , first jeep , having a blast repairing it and rebuilding it.
I have now decided to start diagnosing the climate control problems it has but need some help for i am new to climate heat and ac stuff.

When i bought the jeep the air would only come out the defrost vents. So i am am looking for the vacuum ball and it appears i am missing one.
The previous owner gave me this mess of piping


I am at a loss how this fits into the bay? i have turned it everywitch way. and consulted the haynes manual but its kind of vague.
here is my engine bay, Besides a vacuum ball do you see anything else missing?



i was told this piping put back in and a new heater core would make the ac work by prev owner? Im going to make a trip to the junk yard. Am i missing anything else? any help tips greatly appreciated!

 

I later discovered the air stopped all together blowing. So i have read the climate switch is notorious for burning up!?
I pulled mine and sure enough it is wasted. Im gonna try one from a junk yard but is there a upgrade for this?
I am worried about this starting a fire?
Also my plug is all burnt is this salvageable?

 

Wondering if there is any climate switch upgrade or other year model switch that can work and not burn up? how have yall addressed this problem?
