Default Cherokee XJ bulkhead connector

Hi there,

I need to open the bulkhead connector behind the fuse box under the dashboard on the driver's side to check the contacts and clean them.

The connector is difficult to access and it seems that there is a plastic clip around it that must be released to open it.

Does anyone have any tips for achieving this? Do I need to remove the two screws securing the fuse holder to the bulkhead and pull out the fuse box?

Cheers
Pascal

No plastic covers to remove, just a single bolt down through the middle. 8mm, maybe smaller...

7mm or 1/4" on the early years.
