Cherokee Rear shaft Question
I ordered the 3.5" Rubicon Super ride kit W/full spring packs yesterday. It's for a 94 cherokee, 4.0, Automatic. Before I ordered the kit I called Rubicon and was told with that 3.5" kit I would need to use a rear SYE and a CV joint shaft. Is that normal with a 3.5" lift? They said a T-case drop wouldn't help. All other companies suggested I may or may not need a drop kit only. No mention of a shaft replacement. Is Rubicon giving me the shaft. (joke)???? Thanks Frank

I think RE lifts seem to run a little taller than they state. My buddies 3.5" was noticeably taller than my rustys 3". Even without the difference an sye seems to be hit or miss, some people can get away with a t-case drop while others need to go sye. I know a guy who needed an sye on his 1999 xj with a 2" lift, vibes were pretty bad. I would try to run it with the t case drop and if you get major vibes then go the sye route.

eh..he is right rubicon 3.5 is more like a 4inch anywhere else... still i had a 4 inch lift and i didnot need any of that crap.. 2 years i spent at 4 inches...if i were you id get a grease gun instead and grease every u joint and front shaft. SYE are awesome though.. but you can wait a while before you get one..
