Angry Check Timing

I am hoping someone can help me to check the timing on my 94' and adjust it if possible. As well as tell me what can give me a smoother ignition short of replacing plugs and wires and such...

Timing is adjusted by the computer.

If there is a timing issue how can it be fixed. Another diehard xj owner at my local advanced auto parts told me that the reason mine was not starting smoothly is because of timing issues

If your timing is out of whack it is probably caused by one of your sensors as the timing is not adjustable and controlled by the ECM! Check your Cam position sensor or whatever it called for starters

What if the timing was affected by wear. Don't timing chains stretch over time?

Yes the timing can be affected by chain stretch, however its a good idea to check the sensors first before pulling the front of the engine apart just to find out that problem may be a bad sensor!

It'll more likely be you crank position sensor (CPS).
Do cherokees even have a cam position sensor?
