1996 XJ Sport, 242 ci, 355K American,
Looks like my CEL bulb finally gave out. Anybody know what the replacement bulb number is? Rock Auto parts list does not list it. Best guess without opening the dash is a 194 (same as front corner markers/signals) just because the other dash vicinity bulbs are 194.
Side note, did not see any LED 194s at Rock Auto for anything, but they are $15 a pair at O'Reilly.

Super Bright has a variety, brightness seems to determine price. All low prices. Never did business with them, so not sure how good they are.

Cause of a weird thing with '97 and up XJ's I needed non polarity 194's for the side markers.
Been only a bit but the bulbs seem fine.
OK company to deal with. Get on their email list.
I used a promo code for my purchase. 15% off.
Not sure how I got it. Might have found it through Googling it or might be one they sent.
They did charge me shipping so the promo code pretty much covered the shipping. LOL.
You if you are talking about the Sylvania white LED's my Walmart has them in stock and if yours doesn't you can probably get it shipped to the store for free and pick it up.
My point being probably cost the same if not less then superbrightleds.com.
Also be aware of the length. My first choice for those bulbs I bought from them were, IMO, ever so slightly to long. Looked like they were pressing against my lens.
This was my fault for not being more aware of what I was buying.
My second choice was right on.
Also with those brightness choices, beam angles, etc trying to understand all that was giving me a headache.
I wouldn't even know what to suggest for your needs.
My second did what I wanted it to do, was bright enough IMO, and to be frank was just dumb luck on my part.

I have an unused glass standard 194 left from when I replaced the front corner lights. Guess I should bring that to the store for comparison. I did notice at O'Reilly the Sylvania LED 194s ($15/pair) were about the same length as the glass ones.

You have a 96, with the light bulbs in the warning light cluster on the left side of the dash (4wd, brake, etc).
Those bulbs are #74.
The dash illumination light bulbs are 194's.
When I put my new cluster in, I just got regular bulbs from sylvania. Get the 10 pack off amazon or somewhere, and you can change all of them.

The CEL had been on for 6 years in my WJ (P0740) before it burnt out. Replaced it with a 194. Now it's got a new trans and converter.

Then I guess I ought to just take the dash covers off at O'Reilly, see what is in there, and use my $5 coupon to beat the Walmart price.
