Default cheap window fix

i want to say that im 16 and still learning as i go so sorry if this is confusing or hard to read, just thought it was a pretty neat fix to share.

so my eletric windows would roll up but they wouldn't roll down on their own without you pushing them down with your hand so i opened it up and checked it out to see what the problem was.

first took the door panel off and pulled all the plugs out of the pannel in also had to take this plasic piece off cheap window fix-photo-1.jpg cheap window fix-photo-2.jpg

i also had to unbolt the window. roll the window down half way before this whole process or you will have to plug in the plugs again to get to the bolts

so after the window was out and i had the window motor out of the door i found house the plasic housing of the motor was broke off clean, not allowing it to work properly

to fix this i took some hose clamps and a wire coat hanger and cut the coat hanger long enough to reach over to both ends and bent hooks into the sides to keep the clamps from sliding.

Nice, I did something similar when my regulator broke. My hands were all cut up from wrestling stuff in and out through those small cut outs in the door...

Nice creative thinking! For future reference something like this would be better posted in the OEM cherokee tech section. You didn't really fabricate anything new, just fixed broken OEM parts.

Damn kid! Way to go doing all that at 16! Keep it up. I may have to look at my drivers side window. It works but shakes when I roll it down and up. Maybe it's related to this problem.

Thanks, my dad did help me a little with the thought process but I pretty much did it all. I have to look at my back windows to they don't work at all
